De Jan De Lichte Route van het project DigiRoute42 staat online. Deze multimediale route door de Zottegemse deelgemeenten Velzeke, Strijpen en Zottegem Centrum geeft aan de hand van 7 filmpjes, die je op welbepaalde punten langs de route kan bekijken, een aparte kijk op het leven van Jan De Lichte, de beruchte achttiende eeuwse bendeleider die op 13 november 1748 op vijfentwintigjarige leeftijd werd geradbraakt op de Grote Markt van Aalst, na jaren de streek onveilig te hebben gemaakt.

De Jan De Lichte Route is een project dat kadert binnen DigiRoute42 van Route42, het samenwerkingsverband tussen zes bibliotheken van de dorpen en steden langsheen de N42. De wandelroute is 8,85 km lang en gaat over goed begaanbare wegen. Anton Cogen maakte een scenario voor een meeslepende wandeltocht doorheen het Velzeekse landschap en gebruikte daarvoor fragmenten uit de monoloog van Danny Lamarcq. De historische figuur van Jan De Lichte staat natuurlijk centraal. Maar het verhaal graaft dieper: hoe gaat onze samenleving om met mensen die niet binnen de lijntjes kleuren? En welke rol speel je in het leven om niet uit- of opgesloten te worden...
Je kan het routebestand voor je smartphone via deze link downloaden. Dit bestand bevat alle informatie over de route: de kaartjes, de route zelf en de bijbehorende filmpjes. Je hebt dus geen dataverbinding nodig om de route te volgen. Op deze pagina vind je de instructies die je door de installatieprocedure van de route op je smarphone gidsen.
